Catch the Moment 365 – Days 10-16

Each day in 2014, I am taking a photo. There is no telling what the photo will be or where the “inspiration” will come from. All photos are taken either with my Nikon D5100 or the iPhone (for those times on the go). Come back each Friday for a complete compilation of the past seven days and link to join / view others as part of the 365 projects!

This week:

Day 10/365: January 10, 2014
Aaron Watson at Billy Bob’s Texas (the World’s Largest Honky Tonk). So many good shows this month. This is the second Friday in a row…. looks like I’ll be there for at least four straight. Here’s to good ole Texas country!

Day 11/365: January 11, 2014
Went out to dinner with some work friends at La Hacienda Ranch. Good food, even better company and some entertainment! (I told him I needed a photo for the day. I’m not sure if he knew I was serious when I said I was going to post it on my site!) Such a good sport!

Day 12/365: January 12, 2014
Sundays are church days. On this day, Matthew 4.

Day 13/365: January 13, 2014
Went and saw Lone Survivor at the movies. This is a must see if you haven’t already. Bring a box of tissues. In the meantime, be sure to thank every service member you come across.

Day 14/365: January 14, 2014
Those Girl Scouts… sneaking in their cookie sales about two weeks after everyone starts their New Years resolutions. Good thing this girl doesn’t go for the weight loss resolution, I can enjoy these – my favorite!

Day 15/365: January 15, 2014
Well, I needed a photo tonight. Yes, I still have my tree up. The theme (for ideas) in the Catch the Moment 365 group is “cold” this week… I’m in Texas so we’ll pretend with this snowflake ornament.

Day 16/365: January 16, 2014
I’ve seen way too much of my work keyboard this week. Way too much.

Catch the Moment 365 – Days 3-9

This is the first full week of Catch the Moment 365. The past week has been hectic so this isn’t highlighting using my Nikon, it’s highlighting the iPhone. I’m a bit disappointed but provides a little extra push going forward and putting my photography skills to the test a little more using my DSLR. In the meantime, here’s a little glimpse into my world from the past seven days!

Day 3: January 3rd, 2014
William Clark Green opening for the Josh Abbott Band at Billy Bob’s Texas. Front row and center. Couldn’t get any closer. What a show!

(3-365) 262Day 4: January 4th, 2014
Even though I came from an incredibly small town in Vermont, I have a friend that I grew up with about ten minutes away (we made our way to Texas at separate times). On Saturday, they had a birthday party for their little boy who turned one and had a bounce house on hand. Needless to say, the bounce house isn’t just for the kids, the adults found their way too. As Dustin would say, I only made it 7/8th of the way around but for being almost 30, I’m saying it counts! Here’s to being a kid at heart!

(4-365) 297Day 5: January 5th, 2014
This is Earl (he looks like an Earl doesn’t he?). My mom gave him to me for Christmas. Seeing how I’m in Texas it’s appropriate. So awesome.

(5-365) 302Day 6: January 6th, 2014
The one post where I decided to have a little fun with my Nikon DSLR. Too bad I didn’t clean off the bulb on the tree first. Yes, I still have my tree up!
(6-365) 004Day 7: January 7th, 2014
Dinner with one of my closest friends. She is amazing and has followed her goals and become a deputy. Don’t mess with this Chiquita! Very proud of her and couldn’t ask for a more loyal friend!
(7-365) 306Day 8: January 8th, 2014
I am loving my new wallet. Green, I can’t get enough of this color.
(8-365) 314Day 9: January 9th, 2014
It’s been a little while since I’ve been back into the working out routine and I can feel it. The night before I ran. On the 9th, I went to yoga. Feels so good to get back into it but it was definitely noticeable to be out of it.

Come back next week to see what’s going on. I anticipate using my DSLR a lot more so I can’t wait to see what’s in store!

Kicking It Off – 365 Project

Happy New Year everyone! 2013 brought a lot of change into my life and I’m really looking forward to what 2014 has to bring. I’m predicting (hopefully) a lot of growth in many areas – traveling, a new job that’s more oriented with my goals, hopefully opening an Etsy shop and development in learning how to use this camera of mine a little better. I’m open and excited for any opportunities that come my way – so here’s to 2014!

In doing so, I’ve joined up with the Catch the Moment – 365 Project and Project 365. Here, I’ll be putting my camera (Nikon D5100 or iPhone) to the test. Each day, I’ll be posting a photo on Instragram capturing a sneak peak into my day and every Friday I’ll be doing a weekly review here on the blog providing a glimpse of the world from my eyes. Hopefully, this will also help to give me the extra push on becoming more efficient with my camera.

Since today is the first Friday of the year – here are the past couple days!

January 1st:
Flying out of Vermont to Texas. I had to leave my two cute and adorable nieces. Needless to say, the morning was rough.

1of365January 2nd:
The Montreal Canadiens paid a visit to the Dallas Stars last night. I’ve been waiting for this for months! I went with a friend, sat in front of some great Habs fans from Ottawa (that enjoyed getting the Stars fans riled up). The game was awesome, aggressive, a couple fights, lots of goals scored. Entertainment at it’s finest! Go Habs Go!

Catch the Moment, Project 365 was started by Sarah, Stephanie and Mindi. Be sure to swing by their blogs to check out what’s going on in their neck of the woods and see their daily photos. Feel free to join and post from your blog or other media accounts or just do it on your own at home for yourself. It’s pretty amazing looking back over photos from throughout the year to see all that you’ve seen and accomplished.

Be sure to follow me on Instragram to see the latest (and usually extra) photos posted along the way! There’s no telling what 2014 will bring!
