Hall’s Pumpkin Farm & Corn Maze

Each fall, Hall’s Pumpkin Farm and Corn Maze in Grapevine, Texas opens their gates to hundreds of visitors coming to take photos and to enjoy some fall country activities within a huge metroplex of an area. Run by a family, it’s a place for families and friends to congregate and enjoy some fun fall activities.

Hall's Pumpkin Farm and Corn Maze 2013While my friends were up from Austin, we headed over to check out the corn maze. For a bunch of “Yankees” in the South, it’s the closest thing we can get to a real fall festival like we have back home.

First up – the corn maze. Spread across two acres, you can get lost and you can’t cheat!

Ranch Bash 2013

October is one hectic month! It seems like I can’t keep up! There’s been so much going on, earlier this month I went to Austin to visit some friends and then they came up to Fort Worth to visit yours truly! There’s so much to write about our visits so I’ll start off with the music!

Forty Creek Whiskey, Ranch Bash 2013

Ranch Bash is an annual Texas Country music festival held in Fort Worth by 95.9 The Ranch FM radio station. It gathers together some of the finest Texas Country musicians for a day of fresh air, good music, great people and incredible performances. This year for the ten year anniversary, they didn’t disappoint. Did I mention tickets were only $10?! Can’t get much better!

Here’s a quick recap!

Ranch Bash 2013 Schedule

We arrived just as The Trisha’s were coming onto stage. Found ourselves a place to park out chairs and just relaxed!

And headlining – Hayes Carll! We were able to make it first row and it’s a good thing. By this point it was CHILLY! I think this was the only place to keep warm!

J. Lorraine Ghost Town

Just outside of Austin, J. Lorraine Ghost Town can be found. Situated down a country road in Manor, Texas the atmosphere will set the tone of the ghost town before you even arrive. Since Halloween is coming up, what a better time to visit if you are in the area. We were over the weekend and this is what we found…

J. Lorraine Ghost Town, Manor, TXJ. Lorraine Ghost Town serves beer at the bar, fresh burgers, hosts a music stage and numerous buildings. Be sure to peruse around, check out the maze or swing on by for a movie. Later this month, the ghost town will also be set up for haunted tours (be sure to check out the website). The Ghost Town can also be rented for personal events.
