Color Run 2013 – Dallas

This past weekend my friend Amy and I participated in the Color Run. This was new for both of us but a whole lot of fun. Unfortunately, I don’t have that many pictures since we didn’t want to bring our phones thru but we still got a few pictures of each other before we left the grounds.

The color is actually corn starch and I think it comes off clothes much easier than skin. It drove me crazy having it on my face throughout the race so I kept wiping it off. Then, it felt like I was in the shower for an hour after the race (it gets everywhere).

Throughout the race, you run thru certain zones where volunteers are set up to throw some of the color on you (some were better than others). After the race, more volunteers are around to blow (with a leaf blower) the color off.

The race was a lot of fun! Many happy, happy people!

I’ve recapped my recent trip to Lake Austin a couple times in the last month of Bill’s impromptu trip to Austin. Here are some of my favorite pictures to wrap it all up! We had such a good time out on the lake! These guys are some of the best and most fun to hang out with, bringing together Vermont and New Jersey in Texas! Can’t wait until our next reunion!

“Reunited and it feels so good!” Then we saw this fella trying to fly… I’m pretty sure if I even attempted this I would find my face going straight for the water. Yikes!

Don’t hate me Bill… the funny faces made it online! We’ll look ridiculous together! Awww – there, that’s better! Maybe I should’ve titled this post “Bill” – you’re pretty popular with the camera my friend! Until our next adventures!

3rd Annual Ridin’ For A Reason

On Sunday, I attended the 3rd Annual Ridin’ For A Reason held at Adam Smith’s Harley Davidson benefiting Spokes 4 Hope.

Spokes 4 Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing bicycles for children from abusive homes. The event included an optional motorcycle rally from Cabela’s in Fort Worth to Adam Smith’s Harley Davidson, followed by a concert headlined by Stoney LaRue.

Prior to Stoney LaRue’s arrival, an acoustic show was held. Thereafter, Stoney LaRue came on stage and played. Brandon Jenkins even performed a couple songs with him. There was also food, beverages and a silent auction held to help raise money for the kids.

The weather was beautiful, great entertainment and a wonderful opportunity to help raise money and awareness for these two organizations. For more information, please visit the websites below:
