On my drive up Highway 377 the other weekend, I came across a few small towns. Some towns I just need to stop for a second and take it in. Here is one of them – Pilot Point, Texas.
Pilot Point is a small town north of Denton. The town square caught my eye. Founded in 1845, the town is home to about 4,000 people. This is the oldest town in Denton County. The Shawnee Trail and Chisholm Trail both passed thru this area and was an important route to Native Americans and cattle drivers alike. Oh the small Texas town. Driving through, one can’t help but take a quick look around. The buildings are historic.
Have you passed through any small towns? Any favorites?
