Heading to Justin

Last week, I was headed to Justin and I did what I do when I head anywhere, take a road that may not always be taken and see what I can find along the way. Never steers me wrong. For some reason this year, I am totally intrigued by round bales just sitting in large open fields. Rarely, do I enjoy pictures of myself but I would love to just get out there and have some pictures taken of me (or take pictures of others). What a beautiful back drop! The sunflowers make it even better!

To top it off, I found this old barn. We all know how much I love old barns (barns, windmills, old homes, the list goes on and on). I couldn’t help myself.

Watertowers

I remember when I first moved to Texas, Heather told me that if I ever got lost, just to look for the water towers and they would help me out. (I doubt she even remembers telling me that.) At the time, I just kind of overlooked the fact of what she was saying. Now, I look for them, just to look for them and well, you can’t really miss them. I love capturing them in photos – maybe it’s just the fact that we didn’t have them back in Vermont like we do in Texas.

Last weekend, I took a little drive northwest of Fort Worth and drove thru a couple small towns. This is what I came up with.

I love how I was able to grab the Texas flag in this photo. Texans and their pride. Something to say that the Texas flag is blowing the the American one is not.

This last one, was near the Texas Motor Speedway. Talk about old and rusted.
Love how this one came out too.

Texas Treasures On Country Roads

Back when I took a drive and passed through Maypearl, I chose to take as many back roads as I could. It allowed me to see my favorite part of Texas, the country! The day was overcast, with occasional raindrops appearing (it later poured once I made it home) but I was able to get some great pictures on what ended up being a stormy afternoon.

I took what looked like what is now a road for the tractors into the fields to get the shots of this old house. Now, hidden within a corn field, this old house, to me, was beautiful and a hidden gem. Imagine the life that passed through here. I wonder if a tornado caught it one spring.

The following pictures were taken along a different road. Donkey’s are so cute!

Beautiful Texas Y’all!
