Comfort & Beauty at the Hyatt Lost Pines

Summertime is the prime time for traveling, especially for families. More so, accommodations while you are checking out a new location, attending events or even conferences for work. I’ve got you covered, or should I say the Hyatt Lost Pines has you covered.

While staying at the resort last month, I was basking in absolute comfort. Besides the entire resort being absolutely gorgeous, the tranquility of my personal room was hard to leave or just perfect after a long day enjoying the outdoors. The rooms had recently been updated (that’s always a plus) but there’s more than just looking pretty and having extremely comfortable beds to get a great nights sleep. It’s all in the details….

The bathroom. Have your pick of an amazing shower or soaking in an oversized tub. What caught my eye was the type of products that were left out. I know, most hotels / resorts leave the typical shampoo / conditioner, etc. however the Hyatt Lost Pines also left out body lotion, foot lotion and after sun gel. Not only did they leave out the extra essentials, they’re also dermatologist approved. Comforting for people with sensitive skin like myself.
Free Wi-Fi, cable, coffee, tea. The ice machine was right down the hall.
It’s the little things, right? I will say, allergy season in Texas almost seems to be year round at time. I GREATLY appreciated this air purifier in my room. I didn’t have to ask for one, it was already there and turned on. Makes everything so much more, breathable.
Texas art and details in the fixtures brings the outdoor, indoors.
If you are like me, you can’t wait to be outside, when you’re inside. Well, you get the best of both worlds! No matter where your room is situated on the property, the view will be phenomenal. I’ll promise you that myself.
Could you ask for a more relaxing view?

For families or groups traveling, be sure to ask about the Family Stay More, Play More resort credits. With a two night minimum stay, you and your family can earn additional credits to spend while staying at the Resort. These can be used for meals or other activities.

Hyatt Lost Pines was voted the top Texas destination and 18th place for the “Top Family Hotels” list in Travel + Leisure’s 2012 World’s Best Awards.

Blog Everyday In May: Life’s Lessons

Today, I’m joining up with Story of My Life. Today’s question:

Day 23, Thursday: Things you’ve learned that school won’t teach you.

  • Everyone comes into your life for a reason, season or a lifetime. Don’t burn your bridges. You’d be amazed at how relationships come back later on down the road.
  • If you are really passionate about something or need to learn more, take it upon yourself to get there and don’t let anyone stop you.
  • Learn how to do things by yourself. Don’t be the person sitting at home wishing you did it.
  • At the end of the day, the only person you can rely on is yourself.
  • How to deal with hurtful people. The ones that take advantage of people’s kindness, who are unreasonable. Those who expect to be forgiven but cannot forgive. We’re all human, not super human. We make mistakes.
  • The understanding that some people will never change (above) and just enjoy being miserable.
  • Death. I have an extremely hard time with this one.
  • Work ethic. My family taught me this which I am forever grateful (even though at times, I won’t let myself sit down for more than five minutes).
  • The need to take a drive. Sometimes, we all just need to get in our car and take a tour down a road we haven’t been to in a while.
  • Never say never. I’ve said it twice (that I recall off the top of my head) and have ended up in the place I am today.
  • Life experience is completely different than what you can learn out of a book or classroom. Live it.
  • Not every battle has to be fought.
  • How to let go. (I haven’t learned this one yet…)
  • Enjoy the little things – they’re always the best!
  • Change is good.
  • Go with your gut.
  • No matter how far from home you go, you’re heart will always be there.

Does anyone have any others to add? I’d love to hear them!

WW: Tornado’s and Reflection

Usually, for Wordless Wednesday’s I show a few pictures from one of my recent travels. For this Wordless Wednesday, I thought it would be a good time for some reflection.

I’m sure we’ve all seen the devastation from the Oklahoma tornado’s by now. My heart aches every time I think about it – the families, friends, children, animals and memories that these folks will never forget. I also think about the devotion of those who have swooped in to help with recovery efforts and what they see through their eyes.

Then I think about the things I am thankful for – my family and friends, having a roof over my head, my life, my health, running and clean water. Material things are just material things. It’s the way a community / country comes together that is fascinating.

In honor of Wordless Wednesday, I encourage every one of us to look around and really take a good look at what we are thankful for and our everyday blessings. It’s sad that sometimes it takes a disaster for some of us to realize this but going forward, I hope we make every effort to count our blessings everyday and how quickly it can be taken away. I know I try.
