Catch the Moment, Week 13

Each day in 2014, I am taking a photo. There is no telling what the photo will be or where the “inspiration” will come from. All photos are taken either with my Nikon D5100 or the iPhone (for those times on the go). Come back each Friday for a complete compilation of the past seven days and link to join / view others as part of the 365 projects!

This is not poop in a mug, although it sure looks like it, doesn’t it.
It was actually a brownie in a microwave.
I made it from scratch.
One serving.
Yes, it tasted like a brownie.
Is this dangerous? Most definitely.

Relieving Pain On-the-Go Active Kit

“I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This content has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its client. All health related suggestions and opinions expressed in this post are all my own” #WellatWalgreens #CollectiveBias

#CollectiveBias #shopA couple weeks ago, I hurt my foot after a run. With spring in the air, it was a pretty huge hindrance as staying active helps me feel fit and is a huge stress reliever. Heading anywhere with a sore foot was the last thing I wanted to do. Then I came up with this great idea of putting together an Active On the Go kit that will assist in relieving pain, no matter where I am. Let’s talk being preventative!

I headed down to my local Walgreens, because I knew they would have everything that I needed and maybe some items that I haven’t thought of yet. My goal was to have products that would relieve pain, no matter where I was, running, biking, yoga or even a local hike.

#CollectiveBias #shopThe following products were part of my gold mine: Walgreens Pain Reliever Extra Strength Quick Gels 100ct, Walgreens Advanced Antibacterial Strong Strips, Band-Aid Advanced Healing for Blisters, Fingers & Toes, Icy Hot Patch, Wet Ones Antibacterial Wipes. All of these products were purchased for under $20, found around the pain reliever area and I saved even more by being a Walgreens Balance Reward member.

Since it’s just me, I personalized this according to my activities and needs however if you have children you could definitely add other items such as Walgreens Infants Pain and Fever or Walgreens even has Children’s Pain and Fever Suspension Liquid Bubble Gum (definitely didn’t have that when I was a kid)! This is also a great place to throw in some backup allergy medicine because Texas for sure does have its days!

Walgreens has a ‘Walgreens Way to Well Commitment’ as you can see on some of the labels. With the purchase of each Walgreens brand Health and Wellness product, $0.01 will be donated will support preventative wellness services to local communities (up to $3 million annually). Supporting a business that supports the community is always an added bonus!

The upcoming spring and summer season is a great time to revisit wellness kits. It’s affordable, convenient and definitely a great preparation in staying active and well this spring and summer!
