BlogHer ’13: Blog Hop #5: Final Questions

As previously mentioned, this July I will be heading to the BlogHer conference in Chicago and I couldn’t be more excited! BlogHer is a chance to meet with other bloggers, learn more about blogging and for everyone to expand their horizons! The Kavanaugh Report and The Naptown Organizer have put together a monthly link up for everyone attending so we can get to know each other a little better!

Questions:  

1. What session are you most excited to attend?
 DSLR workshop, WordPress (I’ve been told I should switch over), Marketing and Monetization. I’m not going to lie, I think I’m going to enjoy any session I attend. Call me a nerd, I like to learn!
2. What BlogHer party are you most excited to attend?
 I honestly don’t know that much about the BlogHer parties. I’ll be stopping by though!
3. Are you attending any private parties?
 South Walton Beach VIP party – get ready to see me and my pale skin in all white (if I can find an outfit) and let’s hope that I win this free trip!!
4. Will you be attending the Expo Hall?
 Busy, busy schedules… I’m going to try and swing by during “free” time. It’d be nice to see what’s going on and meet some folks and make some relationships! There’s some great sponsors!
5. Any last minute tasks you need to finish before we leave for the conference? 
 Outfits, media kit, print all these tickets and get rid of my nerves.
Oh yea, and keeping up with running so I can run the majority of the 5k, haha!

As previously mentioned, this July I will be heading to the BlogHer conference in Chicago and I couldn’t be more excited! BlogHer is a chance to meet with other bloggers, learn more about blogging and for everyone to expand their horizons! The Kavanaugh Report and The Naptown Organizer have put together a monthly link up for everyone attending so we can get to know each other a little better!

This edition is a little different, they wanted to challenge us a bit. If it isn’t obvious, appearance is a big part of this blog event. You really want to sell yourself and your blog, so we all need to fit the part. Which means, I must go shopping pronto. Instead of telling you about our plans, we’re going to show you!   This month’s link up is the BlogHer Freaking Out About Fashion edition!

Because I can almost guarantee pretty much every female blogger who goes to BlogHer for the first time is doing exactly that – thinking about what to wear, how much shopping should be done, how much repurposing of current fashions can be done, and just how awesome we all want to look!

– Show us one pair of comfortable shoes you’ll be sure to bring.
Yes, I live in Texas and I LOVE my boots!

– Show us one current item in your wardrobe you’ll be packing.
This dress is much cuter on but since I don’t have a great picture you’ll just have to wait for one!

– Show us one accessory you already own that you’ll be bringing to the conference.

Well, here is more than one…

– Show us your shapewear. {Let’s get real. We’re all going to be wearing it.}
In all seriousness, I’m completely bypassing this. I hate them, they are uncomfortable and I end up tugging at them all day. You’re getting all me!

– And finally, show us a dream outfit that you don’t own but would love to, and would wear to BlogHer if you could!

Get Your Tickets – The Best Food Event of the Year

Steak and Wine. Texas Hill Country. Small, Texas town. Surround yourself with friends, family and great people at this event. This is one that you won’t want to miss and I promise when you go home you’ll say to yourself, I can’t wait to go back next year.

Next Saturday, May 18th, the annual Texas Steak Cookoff in Hico, Texas is taking place. Here is your reminder and a few details about this great event!

Steak Cookoff

  • This year Nolan Ryan is opening up the event! That’s right – NOLAN RYAN!
  • Opening Ceremony 12pm
  • The Mayor, Mike James (Chairman of the Event), National Anthem, visit with the Longhorn and the sponsors (Kroger, Nolan Ryan and the Chairman of Nolan Ryan Meats) will officiate the ribbon cutting.
  • For $25, you will receive a bracelet which will allow you to enjoy appetizers and the steak dinner in the afternoon (ribeye steak, salad, baked potato and a drink) cooked to your perfection by the team of your choice. You’re belly will thank you for this day!
  • 106 teams competing!
  • Winners announced at 7pm. Prizes for top five teams ranging from $500 – $2,500.

Live music includes four bands from 10am to 7pm.

Take Part in the Wine Tasting…

  • $20 Admission
  • 11am – 5pm
  • Receive a commemorative glass.
  • Two tents this year includes 13 wineries from the great state of Texas.
  • Glass / Bottle purchases available.

PBR Rodeo

  • $20 Admission
  • Begins at 7:30pm – Will last around three hours.
  • Cody Ohl, legendary roper from Hico, Texas and one of the highest nationwide earners is assisting in putting on this event.
  • Will be held in the park area near town (within walking distance from the cookoff and wine tents).
  • Beer and BBQ will be served.
