What Are You Giving Up?

Lent, Easter, SacrificeUp out of nowhere, Fat Tuesday sprung upon us and Ash Wednesday follows suit just behind. I have a hard time conjuring up that it’s already March, already the beginning of Lent in preparation of Easter. During my childhood, my parents always asked us what we would like to give up for Lent. It was usually candy, if I remember right. Now as an adult, I’m faced with the same question and I have no idea.

Reality TV, TV in general, games (video, phone, ect.), junk food, eating out, alcohol, cursing, allowing others to get to us, gambling, checking up our stats daily (yes, I’m speaking to all those bloggers). Those are a few of the most common ones I hear. There’s also the option of picking something up – such as praying daily, reading the Bible daily, etc.. I’m writing this the night before I post, still not sure what direction I’m going to head.

I ask you… what are you giving up for lent?
