Holiday Light Hunting in Highland Park

Friday night, I ventured out to Dallas on a mission… to find the best possible Christmas lights around! The Highland Park area is a wealthy, peaceful neighborhood with elaborate homes just outside of downtown Dallas. (To give you an idea, we drove by a house that had valet for their party.) Driving around looking at these amazing homes is a trip in itself but to have them decorated so beautifully around the holidays is the icing on the cake!

If you happen to be around the Dallas area and are looking for a good spot for lights, this is definitely it. There’s also carriage rides available to take you on a tour down a few streets.

Here are a few of my favorites! I hope you enjoy them too!
(Be sure you scroll all the way to the bottom to see the jackpot of all decorated homes!)

I would love to have life-like guards outside my door but I guarantee if I’m storing them in an attic, they’re bound to catch me off guard at another point during the year.

Does anyone else think Home Alone when seeing homes like this one?

Is your house too big? Well, let’s just decorate all the trees! Christmas Lights, Dallas Christmas Lights, DFW Holiday Lights, Holiday Lights, Texas Holiday Lights Christmas Lights, Dallas Christmas Lights, DFW Holiday Lights, Holiday Lights, Texas Holiday Lights

This was my favorite (above). Perfect in every way! Not too big, not too small. Great porch. Feels like home!

No joke. That Nutcracker is literally the entire first story. The presents are bigger than I am and there’s even more on the lawn that I couldn’t get into the picture.

Which one is your favorite?

Well Hello Vermont, It’s Time For Winter

Amazingly enough, this week is Thanksgiving. I’m not even sure where 2014 went but we’ve only got a month and a half left. Last week, I was in Vermont for a few days. The fall air got a little colder, the daylight became a little shorter, the snow became a little more noticeable but the sunsets and landscapes were just as gorgeous as usual. Always a surprise in the air.

During my visit, I was able to grab a few shots to share with you my beautiful home state of Vermont.

When Summer Comes to a Close

Vermont, Franklin County, Garden

It’s hard to believe that summer is coming to a close. Well, let’s be realistic it’s technically gone but some days in Texas it still feels like a Vermont summer. It’s October 29th and it feels perfect. The temperature has been in the 80’s with a cool breeze in the air, the leaves are slightly changing and we (at least I) wish I could be outside enjoying everything the world has to offer 24/7.

For today’s post, we’re taking a look back at my Vermont summer. Although only just two weeks long, this is one of my favorite places. All of the pictures are from my parents home. Views that I grew up with everyday. A brook that I played in constantly (as some childhood friends). A place of fresh, homegrown veggies, crickets in the air and a sky full of stars. Enjoy!
