Ranch Bash 2013

October is one hectic month! It seems like I can’t keep up! There’s been so much going on, earlier this month I went to Austin to visit some friends and then they came up to Fort Worth to visit yours truly! There’s so much to write about our visits so I’ll start off with the music!

Forty Creek Whiskey, Ranch Bash 2013

Ranch Bash is an annual Texas Country music festival held in Fort Worth by 95.9 The Ranch FM radio station. It gathers together some of the finest Texas Country musicians for a day of fresh air, good music, great people and incredible performances. This year for the ten year anniversary, they didn’t disappoint. Did I mention tickets were only $10?! Can’t get much better!

Here’s a quick recap!

Ranch Bash 2013 Schedule

We arrived just as The Trisha’s were coming onto stage. Found ourselves a place to park out chairs and just relaxed!

Here are a few photos:

And headlining – Hayes Carll! We were able to make it first row and it’s a good thing. By this point it was CHILLY! I think this was the only place to keep warm!

South End Art Hop, Vermont

245The South End Art Hop is an annual city wide event that captures, celebrates and showcases artists from around the state. Weekend wide, you can walk the streets, explore, visit local businesses, listen to musicians and just find new appealing sights in the art industry. I was lucky enough to be back in Vermont this year to attend and catch up with an old friend. Definitely an awesome time!

PicMonkey Collage4Perhaps if you pay enough attention, things may be right under your nose…

This was an exhibit of friends who were tending to areas while friends were out of town, and they photographed themselves. Right after I saw this, I realized this chair was in the next room…

My friend Jen from college has been doing stand up comedy in Burlington. A few of her fellow comedians are part of the Improv show that was going on. I’ve never attended an Improv show but it was HILARIOUS – if you happen to get a chance to check one out (or more specifically these folks)… do it! Covered Bridges of Vermont

PicMonkey Collage1The fall season is a time when we all “ooo” and “ahhh” at the beautiful foliage. It’s as if the mountains are on fire. If you have a chance, include visiting covered bridges on your list of “To Do’s” while traversing thru the Green Mountain State.

Montgomery, Vermont is situated in Franklin County in Northern Vermont and has six covered bridges throughout town. Only appropriate that they are the Covered Bridge Capital of the United States (there’s more covered bridges in this town than anywhere else in the country). They’re a sight to see. Let me introduce you…

All of the bridges were constructed between 1863-1890 and all of the remaining covered bridges were made by Sheldon and Savanard Jewett. These bridges were made from hemlock and designed to withhold the weight of snow, large loads and loggers.
