Nothing beats a drive out into the middle of nowhere and the middle of nowhere can definitely be found in Texas. These photos were taken off Highway 180 between Weatherford and Strawn, Texas.

Palo Pinto Courthouse. This town is tiny but the courthouse area has so much character. Brings you back in time…

Back on the road… there’s a whole lot of nothing. I love it!

Have you ever traveled this route? It makes for a perfect weekend drive!
In the area:
The Baker Hotel – Mineral Wells
Crazy Water – Mineral Wells
Today I’m linking up with Communal Global, Photography Essentials and Create With Joy for {Wordless Wednesday}.
Looks like there is not much life in some of those buildings. I love abandoned buildings, there is something so mysterious about them

Not much life anymore, I just wonder what they were back in the day. I love them and totally agree with you! Definitely mysterious!
Amazing eye. Every building’s character is amazing. Thanks for sharing these photos =) #WW

Thank you for stopping by! I completely agree, they’re all different in their own way.
I can just imagine a horse tied up outside the shop front in the b&w street shot. It looks like it is an old town with lots of character. Love your shots of the scenery around as well. Is that an oil rig? Not something I see around here. Your last pic reminds me of western Queensland, Australia, out where I used to live and work.

You and I think alike. I thought the same thing. Yes, that’s for oil. You see them a lot in West Texas. Thanks for stopping by!
As much time as I have spent in Texas it seems there is always more to see. I love pulling in to these little old towns.
The little towns never seem to end but I love that. They’re all different and bring new character and charm.
Love these pictures! My Great Grandmother is from Strawn, TX and we have a family farm there!
That’s awesome. I loved that little town, it seemed so peaceful and everyone was so friendly!
