Crafty Saturday: Turquoise Cross

Every once in a while I allow myself to turn into Martha Stewart. It may because I found something I really liked in a shop and wanted to replicate it or just trying an idea of something I came up with… it could even be a combination of both. That’s when it gets crazy!

I’ve had this blank area on one of my walls that I’ve wanted to try to spruce up. I finally started the process this weekend.

Here’s how you can make this yourself! This is semi-homemade. I bought the metal cross and wooden frame at Canton Trade Days a while ago. The paint I found at Hobby Lobby for less than $1. All together, this is probably under $12 total!

1. Paint the wooden frame with your choice of paint! I did two coats.

2. Nail the metal cross onto the wooden frame. I used a silver nail for this, in order to allow it to blend in a little better, I just colored the head of the nail with a Sharpie.

3. On the back side, I screwed in a D-ring hanger. This allows for a flush finish when hanging on the wall.

4. Pick a special spot for your newly finished masterpiece!

Ta-Da! Finished! Now I just need to add a few of my favorite Texas photos and I’ll have a great area! What do you think?!
