Back when I took a drive and passed through Maypearl, I chose to take as many back roads as I could. It allowed me to see my favorite part of Texas, the country! The day was overcast, with occasional raindrops appearing (it later poured once I made it home) but I was able to get some great pictures on what ended up being a stormy afternoon.
I took what looked like what is now a road for the tractors into the fields to get the shots of this old house. Now, hidden within a corn field, this old house, to me, was beautiful and a hidden gem. Imagine the life that passed through here. I wonder if a tornado caught it one spring.
The following pictures were taken along a different road. Donkey’s are so cute!
Beautiful Texas Y’all!
I absolutely love farms and fields like this. I think it’s because I never saw any growing up haha but seriously, I want to be a farmer.. at least for a little while 🙂 and I mean, how amazing is that house?! If only those walls could talk, I bet they would have stories to tell.
I love the “country living” too but I grew up in it so it’s a little different I suppose. The South is so much different than the North though! The house – I think the exact same thing! I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a few photos of it!
Wonderful photos! Thank you for sharing – I love country photos myself.
Thank you!
Although I’ve never been to the “country”, it is somewhat similar to the islands/island living. Oh how I miss it! Simplicity…Beauty.
These photos are amazing. Thank you for sharing.
xx
Thank you!!
These are just gorgeous, Diana! You have such a good eye for photographing the country. I love that old house. I just want to walk inside and get a glimpse of what it must have looked like a few decades ago!
Thanks Sarah! I appreciate it! I know – I was tempted to walk into the house too but I was on some tractor path and I really thought some farmer was going to get angry for trespassing or something. I suppose I could always go back but I couldn’t drive by without capturing a couple shots. I loved finding that house!
those photos are amazing! The ones of the old house are my favorite! We have pics of my great grandmother next to her house she grew up in that looks like that. Just a piece of history and has so many stories! Love it!
Thank you! I agree – so much history, just leaves you wondering!
