It has been quite the last few weeks! In Vermont for ten days, then Texas for less than two weeks, Vermont again for ten days, Dallas/Ft. Worth for three days then headed to Austin today after work for ACL! Phew! I’m kind of glad this is coming to an end but excited for this weekend.
This past trip to Vermont was for my little brother’s wedding. Sniff, Sniff. I’ve turned into a crier – I guess it’s karma for poking fun at my mom when I was younger for tearing up during those sad movies. It was a beautiful wedding, lots and lots of fun – quite possibly the best wedding I’ve been to!
The weather in Vermont was beautiful, well let me take that back. The first few days (on this second trip) it was raining but it was still nice considering Texas hasn’t really seen rain since April. The leaves are on the verge of turning which means leaf peepers will be there soon. Near the end of my time there the air was starting to get that fall chill. At night it got down to the low 40’s and into the 30’s! Burr! Grab your sweaters and put on some layers!
Now, I’m back in Texas where the threat of wild fires linger in the city outskirts and yesterday we beat the 1980 record of days over 100 degrees (we hit day 70). At least all this heat isn’t for nothing – we achieved a record. Right now I’m in between asking myself why I am in this state where the heat never seems to back off and how I’m going to survive ACL this weekend…good thing I just heard there’s a cold front moving in. High is only going to be 97 (only!).
If you don’t know, ACL is the Austin City Limits Festival which is an annual three day (outdoor) concert. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the festival with a pretty good list of headliners including Stevie Wonder! The man is a legend! I’m pretty pumped up about seeing Stevie Wonder. Other headliners include Coldplay, Kanye West, Arcade Fire and My Morning Jacket. I will definitely let everyone know how it goes!
Is anyone else going to ACL this weekend?
