Last week a couple co-workers and I checked out the Feedstore in Southlake, Texas for lunch. BBQ is the specialty and variety is what you get.
Obviously, it’s a popular place to come for lunch. Here’s how it works – it’s kind of set up like a cafeteria style. Grab a tray and tell the man your choice of meat. Next, select your sides (you do this yourself with a big ole spoon) – again, lots of options…check out he menu. All the way to the right of the line, in the corner is the cashier – you pay here. Next up – fill up your tray with the extras. Pickles, rolls, BBQ sauce, beverage of choice (soda or tea). Find your seat and dig in!
For a decent price, head on in for the lunch special of a chopped brisket sandwich. With it, you get two sides of choice (I opted for coleslaw and potato salad). Believe me, it’s more than you’ll be able to fit into your stomach, no matter how big the appetite. I tried and failed, miserably but it was so good I just wanted the attempt.
Not in the mood for brisket? There’s other options don’t you worry – check out the menu!
What’s the atmosphere? Well, this place is surrounded by huge, expensive homes but don’t let that fool you. It’s very country and warm inside, not warm air – warm feeling, homey. There are tons of memorabilia on the walls, autographs and historical pieces.
We stopped at a BBQ place like this on our way back from VA Beach (I think) 2 yrs back. I can’t remember the name of the place but when I read this post it totally reminded me of where we stopped. We still love Red Hot & Blue for our BBQ. I know, I know, it’s a chain but still yummy!
