First I filled you in on Mary’s Cafe, now here is a little more about Strawn!

Strawn, Texas – population 680 is located an hour and fifteen minute west of Fort Worth. The drive is worth it. The picturesque little Texas town where the streets are brick, the air is clean and a train runs dead center through town. Six man football championships paint the side of buildings and everyone was incredibly friendly.

Here are some sights from around town!

First, the homes. Absolutely adorable! Some of the best porches around.

Into Town…a little old with a little new but so peaceful.

The Railroad… the tracks just seem to go on forever!

Today I’m linking up with Communal Global, Photography Essentials and Create With Joy for {Wordless Wednesday}.

I can’t get enough of small towns. There’s just something about them, plus I grew up in one way up in Vermont so maybe that has something to do with it. The train was stopped – I was quick and had a good lens!

I don’t but I very well could have. I probably did. If I saw a picture, I’d be able to tell you for sure. I love hearing stories about family members being connected to a certain place on my travels. Makes the world feel so familiar!

It is a great little town with awesome people. I graduated from there in 1987 and there were only 7 people in my Senior class. We had 4 girls and 3 boys! I have very fond memories of that great small town!

I loved visiting! That’s amazing – such a small class!! Someday I hope to go back and take more photos. My boyfriends dad actually went to Strawn as well but graduated a few years earlier 😉 I was just reading yesterday that they are creating a new state park in Strawn. Definitely another reason to head back in the future.
